SAFEGUARDING ADULTS IN CUMBRIA

Safeguarding adults means all work which enables an adult “who is or may be eligible for community care services” to retain independence, well-being and choice and to access their human right to live a life that is free from abuse and neglect.

Adult Social Care have a lead responsibility for safeguarding adult procedures but have established a multi-agency partnership in developing a robust and effective response to those who are at risk of abuse and neglect.

If you suspect that someone is being badly treated you must tell someone about it. Your concerns will be taken seriously. Although it helps to know your name, if you are concerned about confidentiality, your identity can be withheld from the people you are worried about.
